The smoke, rising from the fires,
on the horizon below darkness,
illuminates the roaring paws approaching.
Weak innocence run for cover,
but I can not...
Ominously they pad closer
and closer yet.
The Lion of Judah inspires a strength,
a power to slaughter the ravenous beasts,
that approach to devour
as the fire is devouring all life in the forest.
They quicken their pace
but no stealth or camouflage,
rather a blatant, conspicuous, violent intent.
Behind me the others flee.
I stand in the Name of Him.
Their pace quickens again.
At a gentle run they draw near to the warrior.
Then, in an explosion of speed and power
the lions bound into a run!
With gaping maws they leap
at the breastplate of Righteousness
and the helm of Salvation!
Time paused in awe...
Samson had come alive!
A thunder,
a roar,
a hammer,
a tear...
Whimperings cross the clearing
and the fire dies to embers...
