I stare today at this black canvas.
Words slip through the crevices of my mind,
and drip into the hollows of my heart.
Reaching out to your unseen eyes.
I stand before you today,
naked and bruised
Where you sit today,
torn and weeping.
I stand before you today,
naked and crying
Where you sit today, next to
your cold, broken child.
I kneel before you today,
offering you everything,
Unable to give
You anything.
I shall wonder dark nights with you
Imagining what might have been,
What is the purpose of this
Surreal, nightmarish dream.
Where we lie down tonight,
Worlds apart, naked and crying.
Know that I can hear the
hollow echoes of your aching being.
